Laretta Houston

Laretta Houston is a Los Angeles–based commercial, advertising, fashion, and beauty photographer and director known for blending strong visual storytelling with refined technical execution. Born in Angeles City, Philippines, she later moved to the United States, where she studied multimedia and web design at the Art Institute of Atlanta and eventually built a photography career that now spans more than two decades, producing campaigns, editorials, and large-scale productions for global brands.

She has photographed work for clients such as Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, Karen Millen, MAC Cosmetics, Procter & Gamble, Spanx, Wella, and Princess Cruises, with her images appearing on major billboards in New York’s Times Square and London. In 2019 she became the first Black woman to photograph a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover, shooting Tyra Banks in the Caribbean, and she now shares her expertise in beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and swimwear production as both a Canon Explorer of Light and a Lexar Elite ambassador, teaching through workshops, talks, and educational content.
